Project history

First Swedish submarine, built by design of Carl Richson with the utmost secrecy. Paraffin oil motor was never fully reliable.

Modernizations

1916: paraffin oil motor was replaced by 4-cyl. diesel (135hp).

Naval service

Hajen was classed as 2nd class submarine and renumbered as No1 in 1909.
