Project history

Soviet MTBs of type G-5 series IX, transferred to Republicans. Originally had mixed Soviet-Spanish crews and Soviet commanders.     In December, 1938 Soviets planned to deliver to Republicans 15 more G-5 type MTBs, however they never arrived.

Modernizations

None.

Naval service

Boats No11 and No21 in damaged condition were captured by troops of Nationalists at Portman in April, 1939 and commissioned by Nationalists this month (really they were completely repaired only in 1941).
