Project history

Project 865 was established in 1973 for delivering of saboteurs to enemy coast. Design by TsKB-16 (Malakhit). Apparently they were not successful. They were stricken after less than 10-year service due to many problems during their sea voyages. They were double-hulled, hulls were built from Titanium alloy. Saboteur can leave submerged submarine through the lock chamber on 60m deep.

Modernizations

None.
