Project history

The 'Tripartite' minehunter was developed as a collaborative project with Prance and Belgium. Each navy built its own hulls, while other equipment was subcontracted to each of the three countries involved. The Netherlands was responsible for the main propulsion system, which underwent extensive testing testing following the determination of acoustic performance specifications at the Netherlands Ship Model Basin. The Werkspoor supercharged diesel, the reduction gearing, the Lips CP propeller, the machinery control and the air-conditioning system are all of Netherlands manufacture.

A 5t modular van abaft the superstructure can contain a decompression station, communications equipment, or drone control gear.
