Naval service

Canopus was sunk 5.3.1942 by Japanese aircraft at Tjilatjap, salvaged by Japanese, commissioned by them as Ariake Maru and returned in 1945. Deneb was sunk 4.2.1942 by Japanese aircraft off Riau Archipelago. Bellatrix was scuttled 1.3.1942 at Tanjong Priok, salvaged by Japanese and returned in 1945.
