Project history

Vosper-Thornycroft Mk 7 frigate design, slightly larger than the two Iranian Mk 5 and with a different armament.

Modernizations

None.

Naval service

Al Kyrdabian was badly damaged 20.5.2011 in the port of Tripoli during NATO air attack and 8.8.2011 capsized and sank. Al Hani in March 2011 escaped to Benghazi and joined the rebels against Kadhafi regime. 5.9.2011, when Libyan regime was destroyed, Al Hani returned to Tripoli.
