Project history
Ordered 20.9.1877. Originally fitted with a Claparède submerged TT, which was replaced by twin 350mm TT forward, then by 2 fixed bow TT, and finally by a trainable twin mounting aft.

Naval service
After several boiler changes and trials with smoke-making equipment, No 28 served as a tender to the torpedo TS L'Algesiras, was stricken in 1908 and sold in 1911.
