Project history

Wooden-hulled, straight-stemmed ships rigged as barques without royals. There was a short forecastle and Sané had a tripod foremast. The 139mm guns included a bow and a stern chaser with the rest on the upper deck broadside, the four in Sané being two to a sponson amidships
