Project history
Slightly modified versions of the Childers built by the same firm for the state marine of Victoria, Australia. Towards the end they could only make about 15kts.
Modernizations
1890s, both: were reboilered with water-tube boilers
1900s, both: - 1 x 1 - 356 TT
Naval service
Both were sent to Malta on completion and were sold there in 1907.
