Ship project history: Cutters of 165ft class have been created during times of Prohibition and intended basically for intercept of rum runners. In total 18 ships were built, one was converted to a presidential yacht.

Modernizations: 1941, all CGC: - 1 x 1 - 37/(43-50); + 1 DCT, 2 DCR

1943 - 1944, all CGC: - 1 x 1 - 76/23; + 2 x 1 - 76/50 Mk 10/17/20/21, 2 x 1 - 20/70 Oerlikon, 2 x 4 - 178 Mousetrap DCT, 1 DCT.

Naval service: No significant events.
