Ship project history: Partial double-hulled overseas submarines. 533mm torpedoes were applied for the first time on subs. All were ordered under 1914-15 Estimates: G1-7 pre-war and G8-15 in November 1914.
Modernizations: None.
Naval service: G7 and G8 were lost 1/11/1918 and 1/5/1916 respectively (the reasons precisely are not established), G9 was sunk 16/9/1917 by in error by British ships, G11 was divided during a storm 22/11/1918.
