Ship project history: American-built Auk class minesweepers, transferred by lend-lease. Delivery of 34 units was assumed, but 12 from them remained in the USA and were a part of the USN.

Modernizations: None.

Naval service: Three ships were sunk by German midget submarines of Marder class at coast of Normandy: Cato and Magic 6/7/1944, and Pylades 8/7/1944. Chamois was badly damaged by a mine 21/7/1944 and never repaired.
