Ship project history

Former USN destroyers of Bristol class. Hsien Yang was transferred on loan from the USN. In addition the ex-Japanese destroyers Hatakaze and Asakaze were transferred to Taiwan in August 1970 to provide spares for the first four destroyers of Benson/Gleaves/Bristol classes.
