Ship project history: Advanced Hajen class in which for the account of slightly increased dimensions fuel stowage and surface endurance were increased. They become outdated to the beginning of WW II.
Modernizations: none.
Naval service: Illern was lost 12/8/1943 as a result of collision with m/s Birkaland in Kalmar straight, salvaged 1/9/1943 but never repaired and sold for BU in 1944.
