Project history

Multipurpose mine warfare vessels, designed by Karlskrona Naval yard, order for building of two first ships was given out in 1935. Two 75mm guns originally were provided, but ships entered service with already more powerful 105mm guns. With the beginning of the Second World War the Parliament has assigned money for navy strengthening. Under these assignments at once on various yards 12 more minesweepers under the Arholma design have been included: unique change consisted in strengthening of AA armament.

Modernizations

none.

Naval service

no significant events.
