Ship project history: Had covered mine deck. As well as the majority of ships built by MES, not having due experience, Krakatau suffered from insufficient manoeuvrability and stability.
Modernizations: None.
Naval service: Krakatau 11/10/1932 has turned over off Surabaya, fortunately, without victims. She remained in such position till 3/12/1932 when she has been towed off to Surabay, put into standard position and entered into dock. She was repaired and again commissioned 4/9/1934. Krakatau was scuttled by crew at Madura 8/3/1942.
