Ship project history: First Dutch purpose-built minesweepers, projected on the basis of construction of German minesweepers of FM type from the First World War period specially for service in colonies. They had a forecastle and simple machinery.

Modernizations: None.

Naval service: A, B, C and D were scuttled at Surabaya in March, 1942. A, B and C were salvaged by Japanese and commissioned as auxiliary submarine chasers Cha113, Cha112 and Cha116; they were lost 23/6/1945, 4/6/1945 and 13/11/1944 respectively.
