Naval service: Canopus was sunk 5/3/1942 by Japanese aircraft at Tjilatjap, salvaged by Japanese, commissioned by them as Ariake Maru and returned in 1945. Deneb was sunk 4/2/1942 by Japanese aircraft off Riau Archipelago. Bellatrix was scuttled 1/3/1942 at Tanjong Priok, salvaged by Japanese and returned in 1945.
