Project history

Built by Gusto under the licence of F. Lürssen as large long-endurance MTBs for service in colonies. Practically they completely repeated German MTB of S2 class, but should be equipped with aviation motors. In June, 1940 they were captured by German troops on slipways in a low degree of readiness and completed for Kriegsmarine under the changed design as S151-158.
