Ship project history: Built under the 1927 program for service on the Upper Yangtze. She had very shallow draught and was carried to the Yangtze on board of cargo vessel.

Modernizations: 1942 - 1943: - 2 x 1 - 7.7/80

Naval service:  Kotaka served as passenger vessel about 1942, she was sunk 31/5/1944 on Yangtze by Chinese aircraft.
