Ship project history: Project on the basis of Mameli class in which the insufficient stability was corrected. Besides, more than twice endurance was increased, and TT number was increased to 8. Partially double-hulled.
In 1943 both received moderated size CT.
Modernizations: None.
Naval service: Luigi Settembrini was by mistake sunk by ramming of American escort destroyer Frament 15/11/1944 E off Bermuda during anti-submarine manoeuvres.
