Ship project history: The most numerous series of Italian submarines. The project was developed by Fiat-San Giorgio. First 3 submarines were built in 1913-1914 for Brazil, later 3 for Portugal and 3 more for Spain. Boats had an easy manoeuvrability. F8 was sunk 14/2/1917 as result of accident during trials, but was raised and commissioned in September of the same year.
Modernizations: None.
Naval service: F14 was lost 6/8/1928 because of collision with destroyer Giuseppe Missori.
