Project history

Small ships intended for coastal patrol service. Both 76mm guns were placed on a forecastle.

Modernizations

1946, all (as rearmed in the RIM service): were armed with 1 x 1 - 76/40 HA/LA Mk IX, 1 x 1 - 20/70 Mk III

Naval service

Chahrokh and Simorgh 25.8.1941 were captured by boarding groups from Australian sloop Yarra at Khorramshahr, Chahbaaz and Karkass this day were captured by boarding groups from Indian sloop Lawrence at Bandar-Shapur. Subsequently all four were commissioned by RIM as Hira, Nilam, Moti and Lai and were used as training and patrol ships at Bombay. They were returned to Iran in 1946 and received former names.
