Project history

Wooden-hulled broadside battery ship.

Ship protection

Iron armour protected the belt (152mm amidships). Battery was closed by 121mm sides and 25mm deck.

Modernizations

1880s: - 2 x 1 - 229/14, 10 x 1 - 163/14; + 4 x 1 - 173/22 RK L/25 C/74, 2 x 1 - 173/17 RK L/20, 4 x 5 - 37/17 Hotchkiss

1897: re-engined (16.5kts); + 4 x 1 - 75/35 M1897

Naval service

Since 1897 Vasilissa Olga served as gunnery TS.
