Ship project history: Former Italian torpedo boat Lira of Spica class. 9/9/1943 she was scuttled at Specia to avoid capture by German troops, salvaged by Germans 15/5/1944 but repair was never completed. TA49 was lost 4/11/1944 during Allied air raid to Specia.
