Ship project history: Former French submarines of Aurore class, captured incomplete 13/6/1940 by German troops; completion under German standards of UF2 begun 31/10/1940. Exact data of conversion is not known: most likely, trainable TT was not installed, and German origin gun was installed. 5/5/1941 she was renamed UF2 and commissioned by Kriegsmarine 5/11/1942. Sister-ships L`Africaine and L`Astree received German numbers UF1 and UF3, but never commissioned and completed after war for French Navy.
Modernizations: None
Naval service: UF2 was stricken 5/7/1944 and in 1945, presumably, scuttled at Gotenhafen.
