Project history

Known as Project 12 these two boats were built at Danzig N Yd. Double-hulled.

Modernizations

by late 1914, both: - 1 x 1 - 7.9/79; + 1 x 5 - 37/27 RV L/30

1915, both: - 1 x 5 - 37/17; + 1 x 1 - 50/37 SK L/40 C/92

Naval service

U3 served for trials, was raised after a diving accident 17.11.1911 and sunk during the transfer tow to England in 1918. U4 was broken up after the war.
