Project history

Projected under the auxiliary shipbuilding programme of 1959, both units were designed in 1963 and ordered in 1965. Officially, they were Type 762 mine transports, but they had full minelaying capabilities. All decks had minerails, the stern had four hatch-covered launching ramps and two rails on deck lead to the sideward launching positions. Their crane equipment enabled them to supply other ships with mines.

Modernizations

None.

Naval service

No significant events.
