Project history

The Type 340. Employed in mine warfare research until decommissioning in 1994. Reactivated in 1995 and converted to serve as a research ship, with mechanical, acoustic, and magnetic mine countermeasures gear. Had two 600kW sweep current generators. Wooden construction.

Modernizations

1997: + decompression chamber and other diver support equipment
