Ship project history: Motor torpedo boats, ordered by Republican Spanish Government in France in 1937 as type 40K, SA8 and 9 were ordered by French Navy as patrol boats. All were captured on the stocks. Since 1941 they were completed as MTBs for Kriegsmarine.

Modernizations: 1942 - 1943, all survived: were converted to guard / patrol boats without TTs.

Naval service: No significant events.
