Project history

Fishery trawlers, ordered to Dutch shipbuilders by Soviet Union and purchased by Kriegsmarine during building and commissioned as patrols.

Modernizations

1944, all survived: - 1 x 1 - 20/65, FuMO 28 (some) radar; + 1 x 4 - 20/65 C/38, FuMO 61 (some) radar

Naval service

V316 was torpedoed by Allied aircraft 25.9.1943 off Kamperduin (Camperdown) and ran aground S off Den Helder. V2016 was torpedoed by British MTBs 2.11.1944 off Hook van Holland. V718 was mined after 21.2.1944 off Lorient. UJ1118 was bombed by Allied aircraft 6.3.1945 at Sassnitz. V720 and V721 were sunk by gunfire of British boats 23.8.1944 at Audierne.
