Project history

Originally rated as a 'Large B Type' torpedo-recovery vessel, Hans Bürkner was manned by the navy who first commissioned her in May 1963. However she was turned over to Trials Command 71 and operated under the pennant lumber A1449 with a reduced civilian crew.
