Ship project history: Former Italian destroyer Antonio Pigafetta of Navigatori class. 11/9/1943 she was captured by German troops at Fiume and 14/10/1944 commissioned as TA44.

Naval service: TA44 was lost 17/2/1945 at raid of British aircraft to Trieste.
