Project history

Ex-Italian destroyer Corsaro (till July, 1943 Squadrista), 2nd series of Soldati class. 9.9.1943 she was captured incomplete by German troops at Leghorn ant towed for completion to Genoa. Conversion of the ship to night fighter direction ship with Freya radar and 3 quadruple 20mm MGs was planned, but then there was begun re-conversion to torpedo boat. Never commissioned: 4.9.1944 TA33 during trials was sunk by American aircraft at Genoa.
