Project history

Cargo vessel Schwarzenfels was built in 1925 for DDG Hansa, converted to catapult vessel Schwabenland for Deutsche Lűfthansa in 1934. Seaplanes were handled by 15t crane.

Modernizations

None.

Naval service

 Schwabenland was torpedoed 24.3.1944 by British submarine Terrapin off Egersund and stranded. Later she was salvaged but used only as hulk and scuttled 31.12.1946 with chemical ammunition on board.
