Modernizations

late 1980s, El Qaher: - 1 x 2 - 40/60, 4 x 1 - 40/60, 4 DCT, 2 DCR, type 291, type 293, type 960 radars, type 123A, 127 sonars; + 2 x 1 Strela-2M SAM, 2 x 2 - 37/63 type 81, SNW-1, Decca 916 radars

Naval service

El Qaher was sunk 16.5.1970 in the Red Sea by Israeli aircraft at Ras Banas.
