Ship project history: Largest ship of Ecuadorian Navy, former Chilean Almirante Simpson, bought from Chile in 1907. Already by the purchase moment Libertador Bolívar can make no more than 19kts, and during WWI about 17kts.
Ship protection: There was light 25mm armour protection of side and deck abreast machinery.
