Project history

Stanflex 2000 design, ordered in 1987 to replace Hvidbjørnen class. Employed generally for fishery protection and survey duties. Ice-reinforced hull. All deck gears and systems fwd and aft are weather-protected.

Modernizations

1991, Thetis: - Salmon TSM2640 sonar

2003-2004, all: + 2 x 2 Stinger SAM (16 FIM-92), ability to carry MH-60R Seahawk helicopter

2007, Vædderen: seismographic equipment was installed on helicopter deck.
