Ship project history: Wood- and copper-sheathed hull with raised forecastle and poop. 150mm guns were installed in sponsons and 120mm guns fore and aft.
Ship protection: Full length protective deck was 35mm at flat part and 60mm at slopes abreast machinery and 25mm at flat part and 35mm at slopes at ship ends.
Modernizations: 1908, Presidente Errazuriz: boilers were replaced by 4 Belleville; - 4 x 1 - 150/36, 2 x 1 - 120/36; + 4 x 1 - 150/45 Canet, 2 x 1 - 120/45 Canet
Naval service: By 1919 Presidente Errazuriz served as gunnery TS.
