Project history

24.5.1939 Bulgarian government ordered to Germaniaweft in Kiel three submarines with delivery date in 1941 — 1942. Project represented the medium submarine with dimensions between German boats of II and VII series. In connection with beginning of Second World War building actually never been begun (spadework was conducted only), the contract was cancelled by German party 10.6.1940.
