Project history

A steel-hulled, modified Tupi class boat with a different hull form giving 0.5kt extra speed on 500ihp less power. She could be distinguished from the Tupis by the prominent tops on both masts.

Ship protection

Machinery was protected by 13mm deck and 12cm guns by 114mm shields. CT had 25mm sides.
