Project history

Former British destroyer Porpoise of K class, participated in the WWI. 23.2.1920 she was sold to Brazil and commissioned as Alexandrino Dealenca, 9.12.1922 she was accepted by Brazilian crew and renamed Maranhao. By transfer 2 single 533mm TTs were replaced on 2 twin 450mm accepted in Brazilian Navy.

Modernizations

1942-1945: - 2 x 1 - 47/50; + 3 x 1 - 20/70 Mk 4, DC, presumably radar, sonar
