Project history

Rio Branco was Canadian mobilized minesweeper Margaret, stricken by RCN 14.12.1919 and returned to owner. In 1932 under name Ruth she was confiscated by US authorities for weapons smuggling and was exposed on auction. Ship was gained by Brazil and 14.12.1932 commissioned by Navy as gunboat Rio Branco.

None.

Naval service

Rio Branco 25.1.1934 was converted to survey vessel, in 1942 to corvette, in 1945 ship was again converted to survey vessel and served on research and a fisheries protection.
